My own healing

Finally ended up reading cognitive behavioral therapy. I have to be my own doctor, surgeon, psychologist. It's an interesting reading. Some nice quotes from the book.

“When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.” - Helen Keller

“Thoughts are opinions not facts.”

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” - Lao-Tzu

“Life does not consist mainly – or even largely – of facts and happenings. It consists mainly of the storm of thoughts that are forever blowing through one’s mind.”

“Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.” - Aristotle

“What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters, compared to what lies within us.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

‘Action may not always bring happiness; but there is no happiness without action.’ - Benjamin Disraeli

“When the heart weeps for what it has lost, the spirit laughs for what it has found.” Sufi aphorism

‘One cannot get through life without pain ... what we can do is choose how to use the pain life presents to us.’

“Rather light a candle than complain about the darkness.” - Chinese proverb

“you cannot be happy without a wider goal than yourself, but you cannot be happy either without self-knowledge and self-acceptance. If you feel low, there are centuries old philosophies to help ... so happiness comes from the outside and from within. The two are not in contradiction. The true pilgrim fights the evils in the world out there and cultivates the spirit within.”

Keep Going!!!
